Bundle Of Twigs Campaign

The Bundle of Twigs Campaign

September 8, 2020 UPDATE:  We are at 93% of our goal!!

June 10, 2020

Tecumseh himself famously said : “A single twig is easily broken, but a bundle of twigs is strong.”

This play is about many things.  But what speaks loudly to me summer after summer is the message about what can be accomplished when a community bands together.  I believe that is why, 48 years after it premiered, it still moves the tens of thousands of people who attend each year.

Part of the reality of getting a show like this back on its feet after the near death blow that we received a couple of months ago is that we will have to raise money.  As a 501c3 organization we do that every year.  But this year, we will be more visible both in person and online in our asks.  And it begins right now.

I am excited to announce that we have partnered with the Chillicothe-Ross Community Foundation to create the Bundle Of Twigs Campaign.  It is simple in design, and goals.  Through it we need to raise $100,000.00 by Christmas.  To kick start the campaign we have a VERY COOL limited edition poster designed by Jarrod Depugh of Metropolis Design Studios here in Chillicothe.  The poster features Tecumseh’s famous quote, and is hand screened by one of the leading poster companies in America.  It will also feature a red foil ink in Tecumseh’s hair ribbon, as a nod to the original Tecumseh logo painted by celebrated local artist Alan Gough.  Each poster in this limited edition of 100 will be hand numbered and signed by the artist.  (POSTERS ARE SOLD OUT!!)  This poster is going to be an instant collector’s item and we will not be doing another run. Of course, donations in any amount are greatly appreciated.

You can donate quickly and easily by clicking the link below (you can even set up a recurring donation!) or by sending a check to:  The Chillicothe Ross Community Foundation 45 E. Main St. Chillicothe, OH 45601.  Please make checks payable to the Chillicothe Ross Community Foundation and make a note of “Bundle of Twigs” in the memo line.

Everyone who donates will be invited to join us as our guest for opening weekend (June 17-19, 2021)

And so here we are tonight, on what should have been the joyous occasion of the opening of another season.  For me, tonight will bring about much reflection on our past here, and hopefulness about our future.

I vow that one year from today, The Scioto Society will be a stronger company.  I vow that one year from today, The Scioto Society will be a more nimble company.  I vow that one year from today The Scioto Society will be even more of a leader in our communities.  I vow that over the next year, The Scioto Society will actively seek out ways to better serve our community, our story and our people.  I believe that one year from today, the entire nation will be talking about the incredible comeback story of one of the nation’s most important and popular pieces of theatre.

I welcome questions and comments on this page or at my personal email address.  producer@tecumsehdrama.com

I wish all of you the best over these next months.  I can’t wait to welcome you back!
